Two frontier women adventurers, Mary and Abigail, travel the Pacific Northwest in the early years of the nineteenth century. During a late afternoon in March, they arrive at the buildings belonging to two rival but friendly fur and trading companies. That evening, the women attend a party. While Mary finds amusement with a handsome trader, Abigail is drawn to a romantic, brooding trapper. Unable to catch his eye, and with Mary off with another trapper, Abigail rides away on her horse, and travels through time. |
